One of the most coveted collaborations in the sneaker world was Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment Design x Air Jordan 1. The collab was released at the genesis of the Air Jordan 1 revival as the black toe motif appeared with a blue outsole, collar, and heel. The signature fragment lightning bolts landed on the heel, making the shoe a must-have for collectors. While the fragment Design hype has yet to die down, Fujiwara has unearthed a handful of samples such as the fragment Design x Air Jordan 3 and the fragment Design x Air Jordan Cadence.
After being teased in the summer of 2020, the fragment Design x sacai x Nike LD Waffle is coming later this summer. Worn by Fujiwara himself and then confirmed by SHOF and ZSneakerheadz, the Sacai double-up gets the signature fragment Design thunderbolt. The upcoming collaborative crossover differs slightly from Fujiwara’s pair as the retail version is dressed in all blue and features a ventilated upper, which taps the OG Sacai waffle.
