Last year, two of adidas Basketball’s All-Star point guards from each coast teamed up to release the first Florist City collection, honoring the respective towns of Portland and Washington DC where Damian Lillard and John Wall have become franchise leaders.
With spring upon us and the Rose and Cherry Blossom Festivals approaching for each city, adidas is running back the theme yet again with limited edition colorways of both the D Lillard 1 and J Wall 1.
“We have an opportunity to put a shoe out for each of our cities that we play for, and that’s pretty big for me,” Wall told me as the collection first launched. “Everything I’m doing, I do it for the city of DC.”
On John’s signature model, you’ll notice a cherry blossom graphic along the collar’s Three Stripes, as well as the tongue and toe overlay. The white and grey upper is inspired by monuments found throughout the Wizards’ home city.
The “Cherry Blossom” J Wall 1, priced at $115 and paying tribute to Washington DC, will launch as part of the adidas Florist City Collection on March 20th at Foot Locker and adidas.com.
