Chinese sportswear brand Li-Ning is currently carving out its position in the sneaker industry. Earlier this month, the Li-Ning BD Doom, Baron Davis’ signature sneaker, hit USA retailers including Eastbay for the first time. Now, we have learned that the up-and-coming yet storied brand has officially signed Evan Turner, the number 2 pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
Evan Turner, a combo guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, will receive his own Li-Ning signature sneaker/apparel and is expected to wear his shoe during the 2010-2011 NBA season. Supposedly, this deal was constructed by David Faulk; he is the same agent that established the deal between Michael Jordan and Nike (financial terms of this deal were not available at press time). Could this also be history in the making? What are your thoughts on this signing?
