Reebok’s collaboration with Eames continues as the iconic sportswear brand and iconic design studio have teamed up on the Reebok Classic Leather, taking inspiration from Eames’ Coloring Toy, Elephant Toy, and the Eames Lounge Chair/Ottoman.
Eames x Reebok Classic Leather “Rosewood”
Taking inspiration from the iconic Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, the sneaker features a Rosewood woodgrain print throughout the upper and overlays, a favorite material of Charles and Ray Eames. Eames branding is seen on the lateral side and on the tongue tag, with a black midsole and gum outsole finishing off the sneaker. The Eames x Reebok Classic Leather “Rosewood” is set to drop exclusively first on June 9th via Eamesoffice.com, followed by a wider release on June 10th via Reebok.com and at select retailers for $120.
Eames x Reebok Classic Leather “Coloring Toy”
Taking inspiration from the Coloring Toy, a children’s coloring and construction kit from 1955, the sneaker features a white leather upper with black geometric outlines throughout the upper and overlays. Users are encouraged to color and customize the sneaker to put their own unique spin on the sneaker. The Eames x Reebok Classic Leather “Coloring Toy” is set to drop exclusively on June 2nd via Eamesoffice.com with a wider release on June 3rd via Reebok.com and at select retailers for $120.
Eames x Reebok Classic Leather “Elephant Pack”
Dropping in 3 colorways of Lime, Ice Grey, and Red, the Eames x Reebok Classic Leather “Elephant Pack” takes inspiration from the Eames Elephant, which was designed as a children’s play object but wasn’t able to be mass-produced during Charles and Ray’s lifetime due to the shaping and complex curves. In 2007, Eames Office released the Eames Elephant with Vitra which is made of either plywood and child-friendly plastic.
The sneakers all feature a tonal colorway in their respective colors, with a removable elephant face should that is overlaid on the laces.
