New Balance Partners with District Vision to Bring Awareness to Mental Health

Beginning back in 2013, District Vision started out as a performance eyewear company that has since evolved into a running brand with a wellness angle. With mental health in mind, the District Vision x New Balance collection hopes to bring awareness to the importance of internal wellbeing. The series features two of the New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2 that are accompanied by a matching apparel collection.

The campaign is led by a variety of athletes and professionals all akin to the New Balance family. Each member of the campaign offers their own micro-course, making for a total of five courses led by rapper/actor GaTa, pro skater Alex Olson, Olympic and New Balance runners Emily Sisson and Brenda Martinez, running coach Mike Spino, and District Vision co-founder Max Vallot. Each course is priced at $10 and is completely virtual. When you purchase the course, you get access to a video from your selected host that discusses how running and fitness have helped their mental health.

“We are thrilled about the opportunity to work with a heritage running brand, like New Balance, on a collaboration that goes beyond just product,” Vallot says. “It is our hope that consumers will gain a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be a ‘mindful athlete’ and learn how running can be used as one tool in their mental wellbeing journey.”

For the collection’s New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2, the sneaker is offered in white and black colorways. Both options have a knit upper paired with a carbon fiber plate and FuelCell cushion midsole for maximum energy return. The insole of the sneaker is marked with a red peace sign. The lateral side of the sneaker features a co-branded badge that reads “District Vision New Balance Center For Peace.”

The entire District Vision x New Balance Collection is available now. Each New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2 is priced at $220. The performance running apparel ranges from $55 to $150. To purchase, visit NewBalance.com. The mental health wellness courses are available exclusively on DistrictVision.com for $10 each.
