CryptoKickers x Wilson Chandler NFT Sneakers

Release Date: April 21, 2021
Price: Starting at 0.021 ETH (approx $51.95)

The world of NFTs continues to carve its own lane in sneakers.

CryptoKickers, an NFT-based fashion brand focused on “designing footwear for the New World,” is debuting the first-ever virtual shoe deal with NBA vet Wilson Chandler. Together, the tandem worked to create two digital footwear pieces: the Wilson Chandler 1 OG “DePaul Fade” and “New York.” The first-ever deal of such proportions, perhaps this is signaling a new digital transition within the traditionally tangible industry.

Since launching earlier in March, CryptoKickers has found success through selling digital footwear pieces. Thus far, the start-up has sold over 300 pairs around 1.26 ETH (approx. $3100.41 USD).

Beyond Wilson’s huge impact in the NBA, he is already a big part of the NFT community and is a champion for the technology and ideology behind it all. He was our dream collaborator. We reached out to him over Twitter and within days, a partnership was in place.”

Joey Flynn: co-founder of CryptoKicker

As soon as I discovered CryptoKickers, it was a no-brainer to

collaborate with them,” said Chandler, a 13-year NBA veteran.

“I’ve been in the crypto space for some time and recently became obsessed with NFTs. I think these guys are positioned to build a Nike-sized fashion business for virtual worlds.

As quoted in their press release: “11% of each sale will be donated to Cool Earth, a rainforest preservation nonprofit. Chandler will donate all his proceeds to the Benton Harbor Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit aiding social and economic development in his hometown of Benton Harbor, Michigan. The proceeds will buy physical shoes for underprivileged children in the community and help bring in guest
speakers to educate the town’s younger generation on cryptocurrency, NFTs, and blockchain technology.”
