The first of several Concepts x New Balance MADE collaborations in 2017 is revealed today, highlighting a shade historic in its royal ties.
The Concepts x New Balance 990 “Tyrian” celebrates a shade of purple that was made through extracting a natural purple dye from sea snails. The extremely expensive and reserved for royalty hue was a time intensive process of collecting the snails and extracting the dye. Thus, hard to get and largely associated with upper class. The shoe itself elects for a monotone aesthetic based in premium suede alongside perforated details and reflective hits on the N logo underlay and heel tab.
Expect the collaborative “Tyrian” shoe on March 10th for $220 exclusively at Concepts.
