The Concepts x Reebok Question “1996” Pays Homage to Two Legends

Concepts and Reebok are teaming up for a commemorative Question as the Boston-based retailer and the Vector logo brand go back in time to celebrate their respective history.

The Concepts x Reebok Question pays homage to Allen Iverson’s 1996 draft class and the debut of his first signature shoe. For Concepts, 1996 is significant as the year marked the opening of its first-ever store.

“Having partnered with Reebok in the past, it’s a full circle moment, but also the biggest to date in our storied history,” said Tarek Hassan, Concepts founder & CEO. “The significance of the Question model goes beyond design. Both Iverson and Reebok took a chance on one another, and Concepts has never taken the easy route.”

The collaborative Concepts x Reebok Question is housed in special packaging that tributes a favorite Concepts’ vintage ad, an OG red toe box, a leather, synthetic, & textile mixed upper, a custom “Have You Seen Him” sock liner, asymmetrical “9” (left) and “6” (right) graphics on the heel, Concepts x Reebok logo lockup at the Achilles, and an OG icy outsole with an interlocking Concepts logo.

“While the design dives deep into Iverson as a rookie and his outstanding draft class, the hidden – or not so hidden – meaning is that it’s unapologetically loud, a nod to AI’s style,” Hassan said. “We couldn’t collaborate on Question without inserting some aspect of how impactful he was off the court. We favored the risk taker, so it’s not for the faint of heart.”

The Concepts x Reebok Question “1996” releases for $170 exclusively on October 21, 2022, at Concepts before its wider release on October 22, 2022, at Reebok.com and select retailers.
