Personal Favorite: Nike Air Yeezy “Net”
“I hate hype. I’ve never once camped for shoes, and only a few times got up at 5 a.m. for a pair of shoes that are going for $30 over retail, but the Yeezys are not about hype for me. It took me years to track down the only pair I wanted: The Nike Air Yeezy 1 “Net.” The “Net” colorway has been the only one I’ve wanted, and recently I finally came up on a pair. Every week when I went into the Compound Gallery, Portland’s number one streetwear and shoe store, I would see a pair on display in the glass case. I knew I needed a pair, and I would sell or trade anything to get a pair. The other Yeezy colorways really haven’t done anything for me. The only other colorway that I could see myself getting would be a pair of “Zens”, but other then that you can take the other colorways. I think people got too caught up on “Red Octobers”, it’s an all-red based shoe that is made mostly out of plastic with some buttery suede on the toebox. Hopefully Kanye can do some big things for adidas. Already we’re seeing Stan Smiths sell out and murdered out Adidas Fluxes go for $300, so it looks like the hype has already begun. This summer should be interesting with a release date coming soon, and designs in the process.”
