Kickstarter: Nike Air More Uptempo
“When I was eight or nine years old, I went to the mall with my brother and mom to buy new shoes for the year. Before we eventually hit the Footlocker in the mall, there was a fountain where you could “make a wish”. I dropped a penny into the water and wished to find the “coolest shoes.” I know it sounds cheesy, but I really did find the coolest shoes that day, and it was the Air More Uptempo. There was nothing else like it on the market. Walking the long way and not cutting through the grass, you had to avoid those orange marks from fertilizer of course, and finally scrapping out the rocks from the soles! This is when all those habits started, the day I fell in love with Nike and started my fascination with sneakers. At $50, it was a pricey shoe for my mother at the time, but I wore that shoe to the ground. It was my only pair for the year. Thanks again mom!”
