Caroline Hu, one of China’s rising stars in fashion, brings her unique touch to the classic adidas Samba through her latest collaboration with CLOT. The project is a heartfelt tribute to the rich visual traditions of Chinese culture.
The Caroline Hu x CLOT x adidas Samba merges the timeless appeal of the Samba silhouette with Hu’s lush and feminine aesthetic. Known for her free-spirited designs under her label, Reverie by Caroline Hu, Hu’s collaboration with CLOT is her first ready-to-wear venture following her success at the CLOT Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion Show in Shanghai.
Inspired by CLOT’s celebrated “HUA REN” collection, which pays homage to Chinese heritage, Hu enlisted her friend, artist Rao Chen, to create bespoke prints of Chinese-style flowers and birds. These intricate designs grace the sneakers, making each pair a wearable piece of art. The collection also includes t-shirts, crocheted tops, and pleated skirts, each echoing traditional Chinese motifs with a modern twist.
“The collaboration has been an excellent opportunity,” Hu remarked, “to reexamine Chinese elements in my designs. This is best articulated through the vibrant colors and detailed prints.”
