Now more than ever it seems people fear that the end is near, yet Cali Thornhill DeWitt has envisioned this for quite some time. The Cali Thornhill DeWitt x Vault By Vans Collection is an annex of the post-punk artist’s feelings about the millennial condition. The collection features a Sk8-Hi, Slip-On, Old Skool, Era, and Chukka Boot.
The footwear will be released alongside a full apparel collection that shares themes of disaster around global warming. The Vans Slip-On has a blue base and small Earths printed on the upper, with “Ecstasy” embroidered in red on the ankle collar. The Vans Era comes in pink with more Earth shapes and printed coffins. The ankle collar reads “Crisis Actor.” The Vans Old Skool has “Social Disaster” embroidered on the ankle collar, along with a white base and corresponding Earths. The Vans Sidestripe and laces are both finished in blue. The Vans Sk8-Hi switches back to pink, but has white overlays and a white toebox. The Vans sidestripe is dressed in black, which matches the “Doomsday” print on the ankle collar. Lastly, the Vans Chukka Boot has a white base with Earths on the toebox and coffins on rear. One sneaker reads “Last Night” while the other reads “On Earth.”
The entire Cali Thornhill DeWitt x Vault By Vans Collection will be available on December 23, 2021. You’ll be able to purchase these sneakers from select Vault by Vans stores.
