At the end of every year, Born x Raised invites LA’s best to get together at their annual Sadie Hawkins winter formal. The holiday party like no other has become infamous for its IYKYK invite list, with only the most-exclusive (or the most-determined) getting let inside. The party serves as a snapshot of LA’s extensive culture, with every Angeleno archetype being captured by the signature Sadie Hawkins photobooth. From Hollywood glitz and glamour to East LA’s Chicano street style, all of it cast upon Born x Raised’s iconic baby-blue airbrush backdrop. This year’s party is shaping up to be extra special as pairs of the Born x Raised x Nike Air Force 1 ’22 “Sadie Hawkins” have appeared online.
While sneakers aren’t traditionally associated with formals, let this Nike Air Force 1 Low be a reminder that Born x Raised does things different. Founders and creative directors of the brand, Spanto and 2Tone, apply their timeless taste to the sneaker with a classic all-White leather upper. The Born x Raised logo is featured on the lateral heel counter and matches the Black Nike Swoosh. The pair is housed in a special collector’s box, with the top being a recreation of the party’s photobooth. The sneaker is finished with a luxury lace dubrae that is engraved with the date of this year’s Sadies Hawkins — 11.22.22
