When word broke that the adidas ZX Flux would be the subject of a forthcoming Big Sean collaboration, it seemed to give the shoe new life. Thus, the Bodega x adidas Consortium ZX Flux doesn’t come as that much of a surprise. Though some will certainly say the Boston-based retailer could have gone after a more obscure Three Stripes silo, one look at this collab and you can see why they chose the former.
Dressing the all-purpose shoe in a cinematic ode to Stanley Kubrick’s masterful A Space Odyssey, the Bodega x adidas Consortium ZX Flux adorns a sleek black base in woven nylon fabrication with asymmetrical paneling fused with strands of reflective yarn covering the toebox, lateral and medial sides. The darkened base is contrasted by a warm palette of reds, yellows and oranges, while finished with a speckled off-white midsole and leather liner.
The Bodega x adidas Consortium ZX Flux drops on July 18 at Bodega followed by more Consortium retailers on July 25.
