In anticipation of Stranger Things 2 this Friday, October 27, the Netflix show alongside retailer BAIT and Reebok have produced a limited edition sneaker inspired by another sci-fi/paranormal comedy that bolstered the mixed genre in the 1980s.
Ghostbusters, a towering success far ahead of its time, is at the center of this release. The film is tied into Stranger Things by way of its character Dustin Henderson who, in the summer of 1984, had just seen the movie for the fifth time as he sat in his bedroom and reimagined the ghosts onto his shoes. That vivid imagination sets the stage for this Reebok Ex-O-Fit Clean Hi that Dustin’s drawings find placement at the front foot, paneling and around the heel.
The BAIT x Stranger Things x Ghostbusters x Reebok Ex-O-Fit Clean Hi releases on October 28 after the Stranger Things 2 premiere the day prior. BAIT Los Angeles will also be hosting a release party tonight where cast members from both Stranger Things and Ghostbusters will be in attendance. A wider release for the shoe will follow on November 11.
