Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves teams up with Rigorer to release his very own signature sneaker the AR1, per Nick DePaula on Twitter. Reaves’ rise to the top has been a classic underdog story as the Arkansas native went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, but signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers before officially signing a standard NBA contract only a month later. Fast forward to today, Reaves is now a starter for the Lakers alongside LeBron James and played in his first playoff series earlier this year.
Throughout 2022, Reaves was regularly seen on-court wearing the Rigorer War Ender, making him the first NBA endorser for the Chinese sports equipment brand. Reaves’ signature sneaker is titled the Rigorer AR1. The low-top silhouette is expected to arrive in Lakers colors as the sneaker has a Black base with Gold and Purple highlights throughout. Co-branded elements are seen on the lateral as well as the heels and insoles. The sneaker’s performance specs remain under wraps, but more information should be available soon.
