ASICS unveils a new eco-friendly version of the ASICS GEL-LYTE III. The ASICS GEL-LYTE III CM 1.95 is the Japanese retailer’s latest sustainable silhouette.
The silhouette is the product of over ten years of research with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that measures the CO2e impact across the entire life cycle of the shoe. Materials, manufacturing, transportation, use, and end-of-life were all studied to create a sustainable product that does not sacrifice quality.
Innovations like the carbon-negative foam on the midsole and sock liner offer ASICS unmatched comfort with an eco-friendly twist. The foam is derived from raw materials like SEPTON BIO-series, a bio-based polymer made partially from sugarcane, making it the first time this material is used on a shoe.
By 2030, the company hopes to source 100% of its polyester from recycled sources to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
