How the adidas UltraBOOST Light Cleats Keeps New York Yankees Shortstop Anthony Volpe Grounded

When Anthony Volpe isn’t golfing on his off day or grabbing a slice from Lucali’s in Brooklyn, the New York Yankees shortstop is holding it down on the diamond for one of the most iconic sports organizations.

From a native New Yorker to an internal part of the Yankees’ infield, Volpe is living the dream.

“It’s a dream come true and it hasn’t set in  yet,” Volpe said on playing for his childhood ball club. “I’m super grateful for the opportunity and it’s motivating to continue to follow in a lot of footsteps of players I grew up loving and watching.”

Being a shortstop is no small task. But that hasn’t stopped Volpe from rising to the occasion. The American League Gold Glove Award winner (the youngest ever and the only Yankee rookie to win the award) is built for the pressure. And thankfully, the adidas UltraBOOST Light cleats have been a part of the winning formula.

“They’re so comfortable,” Volpe said. “I fell in love with them after training in them during spring training.”

The familiarity from the UltraBOOST shoe to the cleat is what has helped Volpe in his stellar rookie season.

“You’re at the ballpark for 5-6 hours before the game, so to be able to train, workout, hit, field groundballs in the shoe and cleat gives me the familiarity that I need — it was seamless and made it so comfortable and allowed me play at a high level.”

The adidas UltraBOOST Light Cleat is available now for $170 on adidas.com and select retailers soon.
