Sadly, tragedy and sports were joined at the hip throughout much of 2016. Bryce Dejean-Jones, a former Iowa State standout whose talents took him to the NBA and the New Orleans Pelicans, was gunned down back in May in yet another senseless act of violence. His story is one of the many of current and former players across all professional sporting platforms that saw their lives end too soon.
