adidas TERREX has linked up with fashion-forward Japanese mountaineering label and wander for a new collection that can adapt from the city to the mountain top and back.
Discussing the inspiration behind the collection, Mihoko Mori, Co-Founder of and wander said, “Inspiration for the collection came from a short film produced in the 1970’s, which revolves around the theme of the relationship between humans and nature, the collections concept and feeling evolved from there.”
“It has been refreshing to work with a brand that does things so differently but with an equal amount of care,” says Keita Ikeuchi, Co-Founder of and wander. “We share the same amount of passion for nature and the outdoors as adidas TERREX so the collaboration has felt like an extension of what we do at and wander.”
Keita Ikeuchi goes on to say, “Not only do adidas TERREX possess the most innovative ideas and technology, but the people are so knowledgeable in their particular fields, they’ve accumulated an insurmountable amount of know-how as an organization and we wanted to combine this with our own experience and love for the outdoors.”
The collection spans across footwear and apparel, with the adidas TERREX Free Hiker 2 taking center stage in two colorways, white and black. A breathable upper that’s made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic features a Primeknit ankle collar with the 3 Stripes seen in a reflective manner and olive accenting throughout. Full-length BOOST is featured in the midsole for all-day comfort and energy return with a rugged Continental rubber outsole finishing off the sneaker.
Alongside the TERREX Free Hiker 2, the collection features a TERREX XPLORIC COLD.RDY Down Jacket with reflective prints throughout the jacket and a detachable hood as well as a TERREX Fleece Jacket and TERREX Pants. Finishing off the apparel are hiking socks, Winterized Bucket Hat, and AERO.RDY Hiking Backpack.
