The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” was the very first Air Jordan 12 that released in 1996. It was worn by Michael Jordan predominantly for home games during the 1996-97 season. The Air Jordan 12 was designed by Tinker Hatfield taking inspiration from the “Rising Sun” Japanese flag across the upper. The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” gets its nickname from the “Taxi” colored accents on the outsole with the yellow hitting the carbon fiber midsole shank as well as other rubber spots on the bottom. The Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” features a predominantly White and Black upper with subtle hits of gold on the lace stays at the top.
Since its original release, the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12 has seen a few retro releases as well as low top versions. To stay up to date on future retro Air Jordans, be sure to visit our Jordan release dates page.
