Spike Lee’s 1989 film “Do The Right Thing” holds a significant place in sneaker culture, most famously for the scene where the character Buggin’ Out has his fresh Air Jordan 4s scuffed on the sidewalk, a moment that became one of the most referenced sneaker scenes in cinema history. The film’s bold blue and yellow movie poster went on to serve as the direct color inspiration for one of the most culturally loaded Jordan colorways ever made. In 2007, Jordan Brand paid tribute to that legacy by releasing the Air Jordan 3 “Do The Right Thing,” a lifestyle drop built around a Brisk Blue, Pro Gold, and Radiant Green palette and released alongside a matching Spike Lee apparel collection. The shoes back then came in a sleek black and grey glossy shoe box that contained a Jordan Retro card that displayed Jordan 1-6 retro shoes.

Nearly two decades later, the Do The Right Thing Jordan 3s are finally coming back. The 2027 retro marks the 20th anniversary of that original drop and the first time the Do The Right Thing 3 Jordans have returned to retail since their limited 2007 release, giving a new generation of sneaker fans their first real shot at one of the most story driven colorways in Air Jordan history.
