Limited to 12,000 pairs total, the Air Jordan 12 “Wings” already marks one of the most desirable Jordan Brand releases of the year. But this Air Jordan 12 was about much more than just sneakers; Jordan Brand donated 100 percent of the sales proceeds to the WINGS initiative.
“The WINGS program continues to focus on education and empowering kids around the world,” expresses Larry Miller, Jordan Brand President. “The funds raised by the sale of the AJ XII “WINGS” will allow us to continue this mission and fund programs that encourage kids to reach their greatness.”
The program in named in tribute to the Air Jordan wings logo, and is inspired by Jordan himself. The premise is that devotion and attentiveness in the classroom will translate to confidence and achievement on the basketball court.
Jordan Brand continues to be a well-respected community leader with programs like this one. It surely won’t be the last time we hear about the WINGS initiative.
