Before the Chinese New Year officially begins this coming February, Jordan Brand will have already begun its Year of the Pig celebration with an ode to the Chinese zodiac by way of a budding Air Jordan 12.
As they’ve done in the calendar years that predate this one, Jordan honors the Chinese New Year with a signature model that takes from Asian culture and places it against American hoops heritage. The Air Jordan 12 “Chinese New Year” does the same by blending black satin fabrication with a multicolored sockliner and Chinese characters at the tongue in tandem with the Jumpman logo.
This release comes after the Air Jordan 12 CNY from 2017. However, this Year of the Pig release stands on its own aesthetically. Look for the release sometime next month.
Update 1/2: Official images of the Air Jordan 12 “CNY” have arrived. The shoe is expected on February 5, 2019.
Update 2/4: A detailed look at the Air Jordan 12 “CNY” is revealed thanks to Feature. Look for the release tomorrow, February 5. This pair will run you $250 USD.
