Serving as one of the most beloved non-OG Air Jordan 1s of all time, the “Shattered Backboard” is set to return in Satin construction. Following “Banned” and “Royal” colorways – and to a lesser degree Aleali May’s pair – the SBB will offer a bit of a different approach as the anticipated release will be a women’s only exclusive.
This women’s release, for many reasons, should be applauded. Jordan Brand could have easily offered this shoe in limited men’s and women’s sizes and been just fine. Yet, releasing the shoe as a women’s exclusive shows the brand’s commitment to inclusion ensuring the women, too, get highly anticipated releases just as men do.
It’s reported that the Air Jordan 1 Satin “Shattered Backboard” will drop on May 5. Jordan Brand has not yet confirmed those details.
