Air Jordan 1 “Homage to Home” Sample Joins Banned and Chicago Colorways in One Shoe

Jordan Brand yesterday revealed a crazy Air Jordan 1 sample dubbed the “Homage to Home.” The shoe juxtaposes “Banned” and “Chicago” colorways into one shoe, re-imaging a theme we’ve seen them incorporate in the not so distant past (Top Three 1’s) and as far back as a decade ago on a pair of AF1’s.

Split down the middle with the “Banned” representing the lateral side and the “Chicago” on the medial side, the sample instantly caused hysteria on Twitter yesterday. Some loved the shoe. Others – or should I say the majority – hated them. Things like “Jordan Brand is out of ideas” were tossed around freely, and Air Jordan 1 purists were simply enraged by the very thought of the creation.

If nothing else, the Air Jordan 1 “Homage to Home” made sneakerheads feel feelings. Maybe that was all they were ever meant to do. After all, they are just samples.
