While earlier iterations of the adidas Ultra Boost may have looked and felt minimal, they were comprised of much more than we thought. A shoe like the Ultra Boost 4.0 featured 17 parts, holistically framed with a host of moving parts.
For the Ultra Boost 19, adidas designers wanted to cut down on those numbers. Once final, only four pieces encapsulate the cutting-edge sneaker, which will release in its “Refract” colorway on January 15.
Fashioned after the famed “Triple White” colorway that has been a staple in this series throughout its history, its a modernizing of the monotone style that forgoes all-white, instead operating with a white base joined by multi-colored overlays. The shoe’s fully optimized Boost midsole features 20% more of the energy return cushioning than any other Ultra Boost before it.
The adidas Ultra Boost 19 “Refract” will be available globally on adidas.com and select retailers beginning on January 15.
