“A part of my official collaboration with So So Def, this colorway celebrates one of the most iconic record labels to ever come out of Atlanta. So So Def runs deep in the culture of southern hip-hop and we wanted to pay our respects to Jermaine Dupri for the groundwork he laid in the city to be what it is in the music scene today,” said Trae Young.
The sneaker is featured in a mesh upper with a monochromatic white and black colorway using a chevron pattern throughout, possibly taking inspiration from So So Def Remix videos. Trae’s new “TY” logo is printed on the tongue pulltab with his signature on the rear, and the So So Def logo embellished on the heel and insole. Going down to the midsole, Lightstrike is featured throughout with the 3 Stripes seen on the lateral side with BOOST featured in the heel for ultimate impact protection. Lastly, a white outsole with herringbone on the forefoot and radial patterns on the heel are utilized for on the dime pivots and change of direction like Trae’s game.
