Honoring legends of skate culture and their contributions to the sport, adidas Skateboarding unveils the first installment of the timely “Respect Your Roots” tribute series. Led by the 45th anniversary adidas Superstar, the collection pays homage to legends like Kareem Campbell, Joey Bast, Drake Jones and Richard Angelides. Early adopters of the Superstar– ensuring its transitional appeal in sports– these four pioneering figures loosely represent different capsules comprised of a Superstar in a signature colorway, silhouette, and a sublimated graphic T-shirt.
Kareem Campbell and Richard Angelides tribute collections will be available at select retailers on April 3, followed by Drake Jones and Joey Bast releases on June 1. Moreover, in celebration of these honorary releases, adidas will host two launch party events at retail destinations that truly represent skate culture and that of the four riders —the first on March 28 at the KAYO Store in Los Angeles and the second on May 30 at FTC in San Francisco.
