Adidas Originals today debuts its innovative new running silhouette dubbed the P.O.D. System. With flashes of ’90s charm joined with design aesthetics from said era, the shoe channels varying visual dialects with its versatile split midsole tooling.
Debuting in a black breathable mesh upper with contrast underlays, reinforcements are noted through welded three stripes branding and fabric lace eyelet paneling. Yet the running silhouette’s most noteworthy feature is, of course, its split-level midsole, which highlights traditional EVA at the forefoot and Boost cushioning at the heel.
Juxtaposing heritage technology with modern-day innovation, the visual language of the shoe is unlike any other adidas Originals has produced in the past. To close, the midfoot is finished in a fluorescent yellow coat.
The adidas P.O.D. System is set to launch globally on June 16 at select retailers and adidas.com/PODSYSTEM.
