Just a couple weeks ago Nike introduced the Nike Air Zoom Alpha Talon, but Adidas has a cleated response with the unveiling of the adiZero 5 Star – the lightest football cleat ever which will be available for $100 in April, 2011.
Weighing in at only 6.9 ounces the adiZero 5 Star is more than 28% lighter than Nike’s Air Zoom Vapor Jet. In the video Adidas’ Rookie safety and running back Eric Berry and CJ Spiller compare the weight of the adiZero 5 Star to a variety of familiar objects and even take a pair of scissors to the Nike’s to see just how much one would have to cut away before they level out on the balance.
