You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who had a better regular season in 2016-17 than James Harden, but low and behold Russell Westbrook’s Big O numbers led the OKC triple-double dynamo to claim MVP honors at the inaugural NBA Awards. As close of a second — and to many still first — as we’ve ever seen, the adidas Harden Vol. 1 “MVP” surfaces as what would’ve been the retail release had The Beard taken home the trophy.
A classy concept on his loud season and off-kilter signature, this Harden Vol. 1 is pretty much all-white with gold branding and thematic insoles celebrating the almost honor. While all brands have to plan for the best to make sure no money is left on the table, it’s pretty dope that adidas bet on Harden as he came off one of his most frustrating seasons prior to his sig launch only to redefine his career and stake as one of the league’s best.
