Fake sneakers seems to be a growing epidemic within the sneaker industry. Although this circumstance has been a pitfall for sometime now, the abundance of online shopping and eager sneakerheads makes preying on the misinformed rather easy. However, with that in mind, sneaker giant adidas is looking to clean the marketplace as they have asked a federal judge to shutdown approximately 285 sites that are linked to counterfeit goods.

Filed Thursday in Florida, a lawsuit is alleging that websites such as such as yeezyboost350.net and adidasfactorystore.com are illegally selling counterfeit merchandise. adidas is seeking damages, including profits made from the counterfeits and the immediate such down of the websites.

It’ll be interesting to see how this judicial circumstance plays out going forward.
