For Chicago creatives Vic Lloyd and Jarvis Kim, it wasn’t until Vic invited Jarvis to golf with him during the pandemic that their relationship took solid footing. This invitation brought Jarvis into A18 Golf, an eclectic group consisting of notable Chicago creatives who get together to golf at least once a week, no matter the weather. According to them, you won’t find a more diverse group of golfers anywhere in the world.
Over the last couple of years, Vic has found himself dropping a couple of sneaker collabs, producing events, and solidifying his place as a cultural icon in his hometown of Chicago. During this time, Jarvis’s stature as an artist grew with projects for K-Pop artists, Dwyane Wade, Simu Liu, and Paul S. Lee from Kim’s Convenience, just to name a few.
Of particular interest to Vic was the artistry Jarvis and his team bring to the custom putters they made for notable celebrities. After talking about what Vic wanted, Jarvis took their mutual love for the Diamond Supply x Nike SB Dunk Lows and created a putter for Vic.
This custom TaylorMade Spider GT tells the story of the first shoe Vic was gifted by Nike, along with his De La Soul SB Dunks. For Jarvis, the putter is a way to connect with a grail he never had in his possession.
“I’ve been blessed and forever grateful for the position that I’m in. Being able to pay things forward and getting to understand the creative executions Jarvis is capable of has been amazing,” says Vic.
“To know that my contact information sits in Vic’s phone along with Nicky Diamonds is completely mind-blowing. Vic might say how grateful he is, but his friendship and knowing what he’s done alongside people I look up to is truly humbling to me.” Jarvis.
Being ever grateful for where life has brought him, Vic asked Jarvis to do a limited release of 5 Custom A18 Diamond Spider GT Putters for the public in commemoration of the 2022 U.S. Open in Brookline. The putter will retail for $1,500, with one putter adorned with near flawless round cut diamonds for $25,000 which will come with a pair of Diamond Supply x Nike SB Dunk Lows.
