Like many adidas silhouettes both new and old, the budding Kamanda is largely based in Terrace culture. Taking from the UK soccer scene and the style that surrounded it, debuting earlier this year, the Kamanda continues to gain traction as an everyday wear and motivating canvas for collaboration.
Japanese streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD stands out front among collaborative partners working on the Kamanda. Completely overhauling the soccer-inspired silhouette, they’ve removed both the model’s foundational lacing system and lateral branding. In turn, the shoe has effectively become a slip-on, with NEIGHBORHOOD branding written diagonally across the upper.
Asymmetrical laces then lead to an elasticized component near the sleek foot opening. Old English stylized font stamps the branded heel in closing. It’s currently unclear when the NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Kamanda pack will release. Stay tuned for more.
