Following a few teasers, Samuel Ross’s A-COLD-WALL* and Converse have finally announced its upcoming, highly-anticipated capsule.
Having already debuted on the runway during A-COLD-WALL*’s Spring/Summer 2020 menswear presentation, the capsule is now set to release later this month and will be comprised of two unique articulations of Converse footwear: the Chuck Taylor All Star Lugged and ERX.
Each silhouette’s design stays true to ACW’s signature utilitarian-inspired ethos, which translates through the model’s asymmetrical take, materials, and subdued color. Over on the Chuck Taylor All Star Lugged, Ross incorporates his Black British Caribbean experience into the model’s design sensibilities.
“One of my earliest memories of Converse is owning a pair of navy All Stars at age 14,” Ross recalls in a press release. “I was traveling to the Caribbean a lot and took those shoes on numerous hikes and across mountain trails. So, the experience of my childhood affected this idea of changing the All Star into something that is more hard-wearing. You have a mix of cultural experience overlaid with A-Cold-Wall*’s opinion on how footwear should operate.”
The A-COLD-WALL* x Converse range releases today via a-cold-wall.com and Converse.com. The collection will then hit select retailers on September 17.
