Another look at the highly anticipated Supreme x Air Jordan 5 “Desert Camo” is revealed today and for the first time, a few sartorial details are revealed. Being that this is the very first Air Jordan release of any kind to feature camouflage, that alone leaves much to the imagination of just exactly what story lingers behind this very first Supreme x Jordan Brand partnership.
Aside from the shoe’s very obvious desert camo base, new images reveal not one, but two red labels that rest behind the tongue – one for “Jordan” and another for “Supreme.” What’s more, the standard “23” on the heel is replaced by the number “94,” which of course acts as a signifier for Supreme’s birth year.
Prior to today, we hadn’t yet seen the shoe’s midsole. And now that we have, noted is a clear nod to the OG “Fire Red” colorway as similar flame graphics rest alongside a black midsole. Lastly, but certainly not least, “Sup” residing as an underlay in the mesh window is the ultimate ode to what this collaboration represents, and just how desired Supreme is as a collaborator. Who else would be allowed such liberties on the iconic Air Jordan 5?
