Back for the first time, the Nike Zoom GP is getting its long-awaited retro release.

The signature shoe of Seattle SuperSonics point guard Gary Payton, the model was the first to bare his initials, following 1998’s very popular Nike Air Zoom Flight Glove.

Debuting in the original White/Black colorway that released 20 years ago in 1999, this smooth pair packs the unmistakable buckle closure on the ankle with the five dots on the forefoot serving as a nod to the Alpha Project.

Fans from the ’90s recall this pair’s brash ad campaign, featuring GP stepping inside Patell’s Oddities Shop and in the ring with heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield.

One would certainly hope that the famed Black/Neon pair returns along with the Navy/White makeup. We’ll have to wait on that.

Until further notice, US11 reports a release date of April 20th. Stay tuned to Nice Kicks for more details.
