Although most would agree that we are on the tail end of a golden era of tennis, those who protest the bold claim think back to earlier times, one that featured both Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras. Both unrelenting legends and dueling rivals for well over a decade, also shared time as Nike athletes much if their time-honored careers.
Sampras, though he didn’t have tons of silhouettes under his name, had a great run with Nike. The Nike Air Oscillate, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was the shoe he wore for roughly seven years. Built for comfort and responsiveness thanks to Zoom Air cushioning, the popular ’90s silhouette returns in conjunction with the start of the U.S. Open.
