Obscura Magazine Delves Into the History of Sneakers

Everyone who follows sneakers these days knows what releases are on the way each weekend, but far fewer know the lengthy history of the sneaker market. That long history goes back way further than Michael Jordan reviving Nike in 1984, or even Stan Smith’s inauguration with adidas in 1973. Obscura Magazine columnist Cheng Chi Lung recently reported an extended history of sneakers, including his personal influences, driving home the point that people should appreciate each brand’s one-of-a-kind characteristics.
