Skechers continues its push into the performance hardwood with a major milestone: the SKX JE1, the brand’s first-ever signature basketball shoe built with and for 2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid. The Philadelphia 76ers superstar finally gets a model that matches his game and his journey, blending on-court power with personal storytelling. Rooted in a “harmony in chaos” design philosophy, the SKX JE1 reflects Embiid’s rise from discovering the game in Cameroon to becoming one of the league’s most dominant forces. Heel details nod to the three pillars that shaped him: heritage, sports, and family. Bringing depth to a shoe built for players who carve their own path.

On the performance side, Skechers packed the JE1 with serious tech made for bigs, wings, and anyone who relies on strength and footwork. A responsive 5GEN® cushioning system, Move Foam™ insole, and a nylon shank supply stability and bounce during those violent changes in direction. The plush collar and sculpted heel create a locked-in feel for downhill drives, while a Goodyear® rubber outsole with an abstract multi-directional traction pattern keeps players secure on every plant, pivot, and post spin. Up top, a lightweight mesh upper is reinforced with a 3D-printed silicon lockdown cage, adding structure without sacrificing breathability is perfect for hoopers who play long minutes in the trenches.

With Embiid leading the charge, the SKX JE1 signals that Skechers is officially a player in elite performance footwear. For hoopers and sneakerheads watching the brand’s rise, the message is clear: Skechers is ready for the big stage.

The debut model is available now on Skechers’ website, select brand stores—including World of Sports locations and specialty retailers worldwide.
