The adidas Superstar made the transition from court wear to lifestyle long before any other silhouette made for basketball. This shoe will forever be linked to rap group Run-D.M.C. – who took the stage in this iconic shoe 30 years ago – but reach back further in time and you’ll find out that this shoe was first spotted on the court. The first low-top basketball shoe to feature an all-leather upper caught the attention of NBA greats Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jerry West in the 1960s and 1970s.
