The Nike Air Total Max Uptempo was a loud and versatile shoe when it first released in 1997. Total Max cushioning matched with the Uptempo name caused confusion as to whether this was intended for big men or guards and wings. It turned out it was versatile enough for both, as it was worn by Tim Duncan, Reggie Miller and even Vince Carter during his college days. The popular model returned in 2009 in OG colorways and others, and continues to have a following today.
