Have you ever wanted to start your own sneaker brand? If you are reading this, odds are that you probably have some interest in achieving this dream.

A good friend of Nice Kicks, Mr. Bailey, will be working with SLEM to put on a week long study to help you start your own footwear brand from concept to reality. While the old saying goes, those who can do and those who can’t teach, Mr. Bailey is the exception. He has done it and is continuing to do with scores of sneaker designs under his belt and a brand of his own gaining attention of many within the industry.

In the week-long workshop, participants get to experience an accelerated version of what usually takes years of work in the business. Students will learn directly from Mr. Bailey, founder of Concept Kicks, how to effectively create and start-up your footwear line. From inspiration to partners, line building to material selection, you can learn the entire process of getting your brand off the ground.

Below is a breakdown of attendees will be immersed with during their week-long study:

On Monday you will start with finding inspiration throughout the city of Hong Kong. Inspiration that you will translate in your own way into your concept and your storyline.

The following day begins with sketching and line building, along with incorporating aesthetics and functions to create a unique brand.

The next two days include topics like: sourcing, material selection, production processes and sustainability issues to ensure that your products are aligned with the brand’s values and view points.

By Friday you will have learned how to create a brand, a complete collection and will know how to bring it to market.
