MACHE x Air Max 90 x Questlove Custom
 World renowned customizer MACHE (pronounced ‘Mosh”) who has pumped out customs for a who’s who of the sneaker industry. From his work with Gza of the Wu-Tang, Kobe Bryant, and his infamous Kanye West Air Force 1 he did for the Yeezy. MACHE for his new project wanted to celebrate Questloves Air force 1 release with a creation of his own in the same color way on a Air Max 90 template. Nike Air Tailwind ‘92 Retro
 Nike will keep us busy in early 2009 with some great retro running sneakers. Previously we have given you the news about the Black/Persian Violet Air Max BW as well as the Pegasus ‘89, but the Nike Air Tailwind ‘92 will also make its return. Womens Nike Air Max BW Classic “Vivid Pink”
 Colors and materials make or break a sneaker. This couldn’t be more evident than with the Air Max BW where the choice of the right colors and upper materials separate timeless gems from outlet dwellers.
Nike kicks off 2009 with some great Air Max BWs for both men and women. We previously informed you of the Black/Persian Violet BW’s coming back, but the ladies will be treated to the Vivid Pink Air Max BW. The simplicity and balance of colors pull it all together on this one. It is also important to note the shoes sport the ever-so-popular mesh toe-box. Only another five and a half months ladies! Nike Cuts Air Stab in response to Knife Violence
 Nike has had its fair share of “controversies” to deal with over the years with countless claims of exploited labor and working conditions, but one of its latest moves to skirt a potential PR crisis earns a Bonehead Award.
The city of London has recently experienced a series of unfortunate knife violence and stabbings. So far this year more than 5,000 victims have been stabbed across the UK and 53 individuals have been murdered by stabbings in London alone. Sadly last week one employee and two security staff were stabbed by teenage shoplifters attempting to flee. In response to this domestic crisis of violence, Nike has recalled the Air Stab which displays the sneaker’s name on the exterior of the shoe from their UK stores. The Times reported this story and while they briefly mentioned that the name was chosen nearly 20 years ago, reporter Hannah Fletcher conveniently omits that “STAB” stands for “Stability” rather than the violent action. This shoe, designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield, features a supportive footbridge to protect one from impact-related injuries that provided stability that the Air Max 1 did not. I can’t describe how shocked I am that Nike, who has taken on much larger PR battles in the past, ducked its tail, retreated, only letting the press have their way to show that this recall is a form of admitted guilt. The current climate of crime in UK is tragic, as is the coincidence of the name of the shoe, but I do not know how the retraction of this shoe will help the desperate situation. Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 Retro
 The first part of next year will see the long awaited return of several Nike Running classics - some we have seen before, and others are coming out from the vault. The Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 is one of those shoes that will make a comeback in only a couple more months. We have sneaked a peek at several of the colorways in the pipeline and we are happy to report that Nike is keeping things original with several of the pairs.
Creases happen to those who wear their shoes, but with the nylon toe box and side panel, multiple wearings of this sneaker will be more evident on the sole of the shoe than visibly on the upper. Nike Air Pegasus ‘89 Retro
 Practically every Air Max running shoe from the late 80’s through the 90’s has been brought back by Nike in regular fashion, but there are plenty of Nike Running gems from the era that have not yet returned that do not feature Air Max cushioning.
Light weight midsole and encapsulated Air cushioning has provided the Nike Pegasus series for years. Breathable mesh has long been a favorite making the shoe more breathable while making them toe-box crease proof. Nike will be bringing the shoe back in very close to original form early next year.
