 In Beijing yesterday Lebron James finally announced that the shoe he wore in some USA practices is in fact the Zoom Lebron VI. He did so at a press conference where he also showcased the shoe he will wear if and when the USA mens basketball team makes it to the Gold Medal game which provides the worlds biggest stage to bring them out.  Earlier today Team USA finished off group play with a commanding victory over Germany just like all of their prior games in Beijing. Just before we head off into the medal round, we thought it would be a good time to take a quick minute to take a quick look at the great kicks the team wore on court.
Several of the team members with signature sneakers were treated with special Olympic colorups for the Games while other Nike team members proudly wore the Nike Hyperdunk. Nike hasn’t been doing a lot of commercials like they used to for it’s recent shoes, this commercial takes place on a pier possibly hinting at the next location of House of Hoops. It features Nike ballers and recent releases that are not retros from the back catalogs of Nike Basketballs past. Hopefully we see more of this in the future and Wieden and Kennedy* Nitro USA can come up with more creative ideas.

 Eyes from around the world are focused in on the basketball action taking place in Beijing. The shoe putting on a big show on the feet of players from almost every country in the tournament is the Nike Hyperdunk. The Hyperdunk is, of many things, the new standard for performance basketball shoes.
This winter, the Eyes of Texas will get a beautiful view of the Longhorns lacing up in the Nike Hyperdunk along with many other Nike schools. This is the black based “Away” colorway, but a “Home” colorway will also be worn by the team. This pair if you are wondering is a wear test sample where one lucky individual had to honors to test out a collegiate PE. Stay tuned for more Nike Hyperdunk coverage. SneakrAddicts have been in person at some of NYC’s biggest releases recently compiling footage for an upcoming DVD. Last Friday the team was live and in person at the release of the Premium Goods x Nike Zoom Kobe 1 where only 8 pairs were up for grabs at the Brooklyn shop. Check out the video about the kicks and interviews about the release.
 So it was a momentous day and the small premium goods shop when they were releasing the long awaited legendary shoe that finally arrived. People camped out but it gets real old in these days in these times when you see a line with people who really have no business buying a shoe like this. Our good friend SoleSurpeme of Lockeroomkicks.com had the inside story on how the raffle went down and the drama that ensued.
