Nike is Restructuring Kids Shoe Sizes Resulting in Price Increases

More change is coming from the Swoosh soon as Nike plans to restructure its kid sizing model, resulting in price changes.

According to a document obtained by Horhead Sales, the change was made as Nike’s current model “does not allow for a true fit” due to an “overlap that can cause confusion for customers.”

Toddler will be 2C -7C (formerly 1C – 7C), Pre-School will be 8C – 13.5C (formerly 8C – 3Y) and Grade School will be 1Y – 7Y (formerly 3.5Y – 7Y).

The price increase will significantly affect those who wear 1Y – 3Y who will now fall in the Grade School (GS) range instead of the previous Pre-School (PS) grouping.

For example, a GS Air Jordan 3 “Green Glow” is priced at $150 whereas a PS Air Jordan 3 “Green Glow” is priced at $90. With this new model, those who paid $90 for sizes 1Y – 3Y will pay $150 going forward along with the 3.5Y – 7Y group.
