The True Blue Air Jordan 3 was designed for Michael Jordan to wear in the 1988 NBA All-Star Game. While MJ instead wore the Black/Cement in the game, he wore the White/Cement in the Dunk Contest defending his title, but wore the True Blue 3s in team photos with the NBA East.
The Retro True Blue 3s were the first OG colored retro Jordans to feature the controversial Jumpman-Air logo on the heel when they released in 2001 for the first time since their debut in 1988.
