Today is Tuesday, this much most of us know. What we may not have known is that it’s also World Oceans Day. Whether you grew up on the coast or only visited, the ocean is a place of divine solitude and wonder. To celebrate the aqua havens and also to keep them clean, adidas is giving away their collaboration with Parley ahead of its retail launch on Instagram.
Passing out 50 pairs, fans around the world have until the end of July 2016 to create a video showing how they pledge to avoid single-use plastic items and support Parley’s Ocean Plastic Program. Check adidas and Parley’s social channels for a complete list of rules.
So, what does this collabo entail? Constructed from Parley Ocean Plastic up top, the goal of the collaboration is to up-cylce ocean plastic debris and turn them into technical yarn fiber that can be used on Three Stripes performance products. This Boost enabled running shoe is among the first to use the new adidas Tailored Fiber Technology, which is tailored to meet athlete needs and obviously revolves around environment.
Look for Parley x adidas product to launch officially in the second half of 2016.
