Nike LeBron Six “Chalk” Commercial

LeBron James and the Cavaliers started off the season with an L against the defending champs last evening while wearing his sixth signature shoe - the Nike Zoom LeBron Six. Weiden + Kennedy put together a new 15 second spot that we should be seeing airing soon illustrating LeBron’s influence many with his signature toss of chalk before game time.

  15. I always associated the chalk toss with garnett. I don’t believe he was first, but it was always part of his game. He did it as a rookie. I even seen his Beyond the Glory documentary and he did it in a Nike camp. (Ronnie Fields, Allen Iverson, Samaki Walker, Jahidi White, Ron Mercer, Lorenzen Wright, and Raef Lafrentz were also some big names at that camp.)

And the FAB FIVE in Michigan def started the baggy shorts thing. Jordan was famous for rocking his unc shorts under his uniform.

  24. Lil’ Wayne in the new LeBron James Nike commercial shows how the basketball and hip-hop culture fusion time period born in 1984 that is known now as The “Dunkadelic-Era” In America, 1984-Present continues to be popular with major sneaker companies. The “Dunkadelic-Era” will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary during the year 2009 (1984-2009).

  27. 1) Wayne doesnt even throw chalk in the air. He just smiles and brushes of the kicks. Associating a rich rap artist is coke? Very cliche.

    2) Why wouldnt LeBron want Wayne in his commercial? He’s only one of if not thee most popular rapper out and is socially accepted as that.

and 3) I wanna know the shoes too but yeah Wayne does usually rock Supra

  31. Garnett has been doing the chalk toss for more than a decade - he may not have started it, but he was way ahead of Lebron with it as a pre-game ritual. This whole Nike campaign is garbage.
